Plano ISD is one of the highest-rated districts in Texas. But ratings measure what works for most students, not all students. If your child in the Willow Bend area has dyslexia, ADHD, or another learning difference, a high-performing district does not automatically mean a high-performing experience for your child.
Fairhill School is located at 16150 Preston Road, Dallas, TX 75248, about 10-12 minutes south of Willow Bend. We serve students in grades 1 through 12 who have been diagnosed with learning differences.
Beyond Plano ISD
Plano ISD offers dyslexia services and 504 accommodations. Many Willow Bend families have already been through that process. What they find is that accommodations help their child survive school but do not help them thrive.
In Plano ISD, your child receives accommodations in a classroom designed for neurotypical learners. They are the exception. At Fairhill, your child joins a classroom where every student has a learning difference and every teacher specializes in learning differences. They are the norm. That shift changes everything. Students stop compensating and start learning.
Every classroom, every day. Teachers know your child by name and catch struggles before they become failures.
Our graduates arrive at college knowing how they learn, what they need, and how to advocate for themselves.
Since 1971. 70% of faculty hold advanced degrees with 12-15 years average tenure teaching students with learning differences.
What Changes
Fairhill offers a 7:1 student-to-teacher ratio compared to Plano ISD averages of 15:1 or higher. Multisensory teaching methods are used across all subjects. Executive function and self-advocacy skills are built into the curriculum, not treated as an afterthought.
Faculty average 12-15 years of tenure with 70% holding advanced degrees in learning differences. Our 100% college acceptance rate reflects genuine preparation, not just academic instruction but the development of students who know how they learn and can advocate for themselves.
