Students We Serve at Fairhill School in North Dallas

Fairhill School specializes in educating students of average to above-average intelligence who have learning differences that impact their academic performance. Our North Dallas campus provides comprehensive support for bright students whose learning profiles require specialized instructional approaches and individualized accommodations.

Who We Serve

Bright Students Who Learn Differently

Students at Fairhill School typically arrive having struggled in traditional schools despite their obvious intelligence. These students experience frustration, declining self-esteem, and academic underachievement when their learning differences are not properly understood. At Fairhill School, we recognize that learning differences are neurological variations that affect how students process information, not indicators of intelligence or capability.

Our Expertise

Learning Differences We Support

Dyslexia

Our faculty employs evidence-based, multi-sensory instructional methods specifically designed for students with dyslexia. Using structured literacy approaches such as Orton-Gillingham methodology, students develop strong decoding, spelling, and reading comprehension skills through systematic, cumulative instruction.

Dysgraphia

Students with dysgraphia receive assistive technology and specialized instruction to communicate ideas effectively. Our program includes keyboarding skills, word processing strategies and organizational techniques for fine motor and handwriting development.

Dyscalculia

Multi-sensory mathematics instruction helps students with dyscalculia understand mathematical concepts through concrete, hands-on approaches. Visual representations, manipulatives, and real-world applications make abstract math accessible and meaningful while maintaining high expectations.

ADHD

Small class sizes, predictable routines, and teachers who understand attention differences help students with ADHD thrive. Our structured environment addresses both academic and behavioral aspects of ADHD while developing essential executive function skills like organization, time management, and self-monitoring.

Auditory Processing Disorder

Students with auditory processing disorder receive accommodations including visual supports, written directions, and preferential seating. We collaborate with audiologists and speech-language pathologists to ensure appropriate support for individual auditory processing profiles.

Executive Function Challenges

Systematic instruction in organizational skills, time management, and self-advocacy benefits students with executive function challenges. We explicitly teach practical strategies for managing materials, completing assignments, and monitoring learning progress, along with emotional regulation and problem-solving skills.
